3rd Black Bear Bicycle Bash
Townsend, Tennessee. It began with an inaugural event in early spring of last year and drew so many participants that a second one was held last fall, with an even greater turnout. So for the third time in a year, cyclists and spectators will gather at Dancing Bear Lodge in Townsend on March 16th and 17th for another Black Bear Bicycle Bash. The event is expected to once again attract a wide range of riders, from beginners and families to avid racers. There will be scheduled road and trail rides, games, prizes, and demonstrations of equipment and accessories.

The 100/75/50 mile riders will enjoy a ride through Mentone, DeSoto State Park, a gorgeous ride around the rim of Little River Canyon as well as beautiful valley views from both Lookout Mountain and Sand Mountain. The 25 mile option will be an easy route remaining in the valley. Come have fun riding the scenic "Highlands of Alabama" while helping benefit "The Way Home".
Log on to our website, www.dogwood100.com for more information and registration. A fantastic new course that goes on remote back roads through to Lynchburg and back with the Century riders looping off through Cofee and Bedford counties. Though no climb to Sewanee the course is hilly and challenging (hence the monetary incentive). The course also is incredibly beautiful; it is a good alternative to the old Dogwood course which will be used again (every other year).
Wheels to Heal

The 20-mile will be held along the Columbus Riverwalk and will end at the Columbus Civic Center, where participants will be greeted with food and fun Both the Metric Century and Century routes will begin at the Columbus Civic Center along the beautiful Chattahoochee Riverwalk and wind south through historic Fort Benning, home of the Airborne Rangers and recognized as the "Best Army Installation in the World."
